2008 Fantasy Football Champions

Congratulations to Mile High Club on winning the 2008 championship!
MHC had one of the strangest fantasy seasons I can remember, but put together 3 strong performances in the playoffs to win it all. Who would've thought a team would do so well after losing it's 1st round pick (3rd overall) in the first game of the season? But luckily MHC had a more than capable backup in Philip Rivers (2nd most fantasy points in 2008). Put that together with Andre Johnson's unbelievable performance after a slow start, and it adds up to a championship.
Congrats again to MHC!

Also, don't forget the end of year party is Saturday, Jan 3rd. See the league site for details.

Playoffs - Round 2 Thread

Tyree's Heroes gets a big jump on Pearl St Pimpin, with 78 points from Peyton, Wayne, and Rhodes. But I wouldn't count the Pimps out of it yet. McNabb, Westbrook, and Edwards could just as easily put up 100 points in any given week. Still, 78 points is a helluva start to the week.

In the matchup between 2 of the brightest stars to ever come out of Conestoga Elementary, neither team had anybody play Thursday night. But that hasn't prevented them from doing a little trash talking (although I think Asshole Erics has a big part in this behind the scenes).

Good luck to the remaining 4 teams.

End of year football party

For anyone who has not yet voted, please go to the league home page and vote for which date you would prefer for the end of year party.

League transaction fees are due at the party, so if you wont be able to make it, please make other arrangements to pay before then.

Also, anybody have any suggestions on where we should have the party?

Playoffs - Round 1 Results

The first round is in the books and the only "favorite" team to win is the first seed, Mile High Club. Tyree's Heroes, Pearl St Pimpin, and Piece of Shit all pull off upsets.

The championship matchups in the second round are:
(7) Piece of Shit at (1) Mile High Club
(6) Pearl St Pimpin at (5) Tyree's Heroes

The consolation matchups in the second round are:
(11) Target Practice at (9) el Chupacabra (for the 1st & 2nd draft slot selections), and
(12) Asshole Erics at (10) Better Than Perfect (for the 3rd & 4th draft slot selections).

Congratulations to the winners, and good luck in round 2.

Round 1 Playoffs Update

Going into the Monday night game only 1 of the championship bracket games are complete, and it's quite an upset. While it's only the 5th seed over the 4th seed, Shock The Puss was arguably the best team during the regular season (and my pick to win it all this year).

The other 3 games are still up in the air and each could end up with the lower seeded team winning. Twohand Touch needs 14 points from Jamal Lewis to pull off the biggest upset (#8 over #1).

Number 2 seed Coach McGuirk needs 16 points from Phil Dawson to avoid being upset by #7 Piece Of Shit.

And finally, #6 Pearl St Pimpin needs 31 points from McNabb, Westbrook, the Eagles D, and Braylon Edwards to get the win. Seems like a lock to me.

Good luck everyone.
